How to Escape Life in Prison

Fifteen documented routes — tools first, then people, then the saucer.

How to Escape

Escaping is the inmate win condition. Leave the perimeter and the game flips you to Criminal. This page merges community routes and a real walkthrough video into one list so you do not open five duplicate “10 ways to escape” tabs. Pair it with the escape planner if you want a ranked chart, and with getting started if you still do not know where the yard is. Guards should skip to how to play as a guard instead of using this as a leak map — you already know the doors.

Tool routes (solo, most consistent)

Screwdriver. Find the driver, go to a cell vent, unscrew, crawl. Quiet if you do not equip it in a cop’s line of sight. Details on the tools tier list.

Scissors / bolt cutters. Cut the fence. Works on interior and exterior chain. A building beside a ramp is a known scissors spawn once you are already outside; inside, trade or follow a teammate who is leaving. Bring scissors to the White Tree later so you can leave the trade pen without a UFO.

Hammer. Yard benches near the gym. Equip only at a toilet. Smash until the porcelain vanishes, crouch in, crawl the tunnel, ladder out beside the cafeteria fence, then climb. Toilets respawn — move fast. This is the classic prison-sandbox sewer, and it still works here.

Keycard. Kill or loot a guard. Chance drop. Opens police doors and the factory. Feeding a keycard to the White Tree returns a Taser instead of an exit, so do not pray by accident. Full card notes live on the tools page.

People routes

Undercover / AFK guard. Wait for a cop who is idle or friendly at a door. Ask in chat. It feels cheap; it is documented because it works on public servers.

Ask criminals. People already outside can boost, UFO-taxi, or shoot a lock. The criminals page covers why they bother (raids need bodies).

Item drop / jump boost. Drop a tool, stand on a teammate, or have them stand under you at a wall. Physics cheese. Patch-sensitive.

Alt account. Second client opens a door. Allowed by physics, frowned on by lobbies, still in the video list.

Chaos routes

UFO. Fastest once you have the saucer. Fly over the wall. Full path: how to get the UFO. E/Q for height, listed on controls.

/e dance2. An old clip-through. May be patched on a given build. Try it last, not first.

Cell / cafeteria breaks. Video chapters show cell-specific and cafeteria-specific clips that overlap Hammer and vent logic. If a toilet is camped, rotate to cafeteria kitchen lines.

After you are out

Do not stand in the open celebrating. Loot hidden weapons, find the UFO if you left without one, and decide whether to raid. Gamepasses still want an armory pickup. Scripts will get you reported faster than a Hammer tunnel. There are still no codes that teleport you out.

Escaped unlocks the Escaped badge. Heaven is a separate UFO + /e pray trick. If a patch moves a vent, check the changelog. Community clips live on Discord. For binds while crawling, keep controls open on a second screen.

This list is intentionally ugly: social exits sit next to toilets. That is the game. Pick two methods, master them, then learn the tree. One method is luck. Two methods is a life sentence you actually finish.

When to abandon a camped toilet

If you hear footsteps in the cell block while smashing, drop the Hammer and leave the hole. A half-broken toilet that respawns on your head is a trap. Rotate to scissors or a vent on the other wing. If the yard Hammer is gone, do not stand on the bench like a turret. Walk the fence. If chat is dead, one ask is enough. If chat is a war, follow the noise out instead of solo plumbing. Two methods beats a stubborn bathroom. That is the planner compressed into this article’s last advice.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for inmates, guards, and criminals.

What is the easiest solo escape?

Hammer toilets or Scissors fences. Rank them in the escape planner.

Do I need a UFO to leave?

No. UFO is luxury. Tools work. UFO help is in how to get the UFO.

Will guards always shoot if I hold a Hammer?

Often. Hide it until the toilet. See getting started.

Does this page still apply after a quiet week with no Roblox timestamp on guides/how-to-escape.json?

Yes. Quiet weeks do not invent codes, do not move the UFO pad by rumor, and do not make injectors safer. Recheck the official description, then play.

Should I pair guides/how-to-escape.json with a script anyway?

No. Use the matching legal guide: escape, guard play, stashes, or the planner. Scripts are a separate ban path.

What is the one action guides/how-to-escape.json wants from me in the next two minutes?

Close rumor tabs, join place 72659788689464, and do the first legal step named in the sections above. Walking beats searching.
