White Tree Trades in Life in Prison
Hold the item, type /e pray, then cut or fly out of the pen.
The White Tree is a fenced white tree east of the facility, next to the prison. It is the outside-map vendor that eats what you hold and spawns something else inside the fence. Community wiki notes and feed videos agree on the emote: type /e pray in chat while the item is equipped. Invalid recipes print “The Tree does not know” and do not consume the item. This page sits between how to get the UFO and hidden weapons because the tree is how you turn a keycard into a Taser and a pair of bibles into a close-range monster.
Known trades
- 2 Holy Bibles → Holy Cross. Two players, each holding a bible, pray together. The Cross hits about 45 damage at very short range — a shotgun-feeling easter egg. Bibles used to spawn in the cafeteria fruit bowl, a brick building third floor near the gas station, a tree near this tree, and the south mountain. Later notes say bibles may be private-server only; if the world spawn is gone, you cannot force the Cross in public. Check changelog after events.
- Any gamepass gun → another gun from the same pass. Famas ↔ AR-15 on Swat. Luger → MP5 or AWM on Sniper. That is the cleanest way to get the old AR-15 without camping a cop drop. See gamepasses and the weapon tier list.
- Keycard → Taser. Favorite criminal recipe. Park a UFO or bring Scissors before you pray or you are stuck in the pen with a taser and no hole.
- Apple ↔ Mango. Joke food swap. Still proves the pray emote works.

How to not get trapped
- Arrive with an exit: scissors, UFO, or a friend outside.
- Equip the input item only when you are ready. Guards will treat a keycard holder as a problem; see getting started.
/e pray. Wait for the spawn inside the fence.- Cut or fly out. Do not crouch-glitch as your only plan; fence cheese gets patched.
How this ties to roles
Inmates rarely reach the tree without escaping first. Criminals live here. Guards should contest the fence if a riot is trading Swat guns in the open. Scripts that noclip the fence are the stale Infinite Yield fantasy — bring scissors. There are no codes that spawn a Cross.
Holy Cross is not a sniper. Take it into cells and the armory hallway, not a mountain duel. After the trade, go farm hidden weapons or return for friends with the second bible. The tree is a ritual, not a shop UI. Treat it like one.
Recipe hygiene so you do not feed the wrong thing
Inventory before you enter the pen. If you hold a keycard you still need for a factory door, do not pray. If you hold a Famas you meant to keep, do not pray. The tree does not ask. Invalid recipes refund, valid ones eat. Bring a friend for the Cross only after both bibles are in hand at the fence, not after a ten-minute search that left one of you dead. Seasonal bibles disappearing is not a wiki bug. If public servers stopped spawning them, the Cross is a private-server flex until a patch note says otherwise. Park the saucer with the door toward the gap you will fly. Cutters go on a hotkey you can find while stunned. Then leave. Standing in the pen to screenshot the Cross is how a cop on the road farms you. The ritual is thirty seconds. Stretching it is how trades become graves.
