Life in Prison Teams Tier List
Who wins a riot depends on the lobby — here is the default order.
Life in Prison is online multiplayer on Roblox, not local split-screen. You spawn Inmate or Guard. Crossing the wall flips you to Criminal. Full lore sits on the players hub and the child pages inmates, guards, criminals. This page only ranks power in a typical public 30-player mix. Pair it with weapon tiers and tool tiers.
S — Criminal (once geared)
Outside, you keep inmate cunning plus stash access: hidden weapons, UFO, White Tree. A geared criminal lobby raids the armory from above. Weakness: the first two minutes after escape, when you still have a Hammer and hope.
A — Guard (disciplined)
Spawn kit plus armory. Swat/Sniper/Premium stack if looted. Weakness: innocent-kill demotions and AFK doors that become escape methods. A sloppy guard team is B or C. Play it properly: how to play as a guard.
B — Inmate (until the fence)
Empty hands, best story, best escape tools. Power is the route, not the gun. The moment you leave, you are not B anymore. Inside, you lose most fair fights unless you stole a drop. That is intended. Getting started is written for this pain.
Lobby modifiers
- All-guard server: inmates become S if anyone grabs Scissors.
- Scripted silent-aim lobby: nobody is ranked, everyone is reported — scripts hub.
- Private
/cmd: the owner is S. Not a public ranking. - No UFO on the pad: criminals drop a tier until it respawns.
Codes do not change teams. Badges track joins, escapes, Heaven — not MMR. Pick the team that matches the guide you opened, not the letter on this chart. The court sentenced you; the tier list just admits who is holding the minigun.
Reading the letters without throwing a game
S criminal is a geared criminal. A fresh escape with a Hammer is still B wearing a new name. A guard who walks the four-stop patrol is A. A guard who AFKs a door is the reason inmates look S. An all-cop lobby makes scissors inmates S for ten minutes. A scripted lobby is unranked because it is a report farm. Pick the shirt for the guide you opened, then ignore the letter until you have a gun or a cutter. Premium does not move you a tier until you loot. Codes never move you a tier. This chart is a mood, not an MMR. Come back after a stash patch if the minigun moves — criminals drop a notch when the pad is empty and the LMG is gone.
Extra field notes for this page
Read this after the main sections, not instead of them. Public servers punish hesitation more than they punish a wrong tool. If the lobby is loud, pick the quietest legal option on this page and commit for two minutes before you reroll. If the lobby is empty, you can afford a second method. Do not open a codes tab, an injector installer, or a fake Trello while you are still deciding. Those tabs steal the session you were about to play. After you commit, stay on the matching guide. Come back only when a patch moves a spawn. Unique close-out for tier-list/teams: walk the advice above against the live place 72659788689464 before you trust a clip.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for inmates, guards, and criminals.
Should I always pick guard?
Only if you will loot the armory and not farm innocents. Otherwise inmate escapes are more fun.
Is criminal a spawn option?
No. Escape first. How to escape.
Does Premium make guards S-tier?
It helps. Discipline still matters. Gamepasses.
Does this page still apply after a quiet week with no Roblox timestamp on tier-list/teams.json?
Yes. Quiet weeks do not invent codes, do not move the UFO pad by rumor, and do not make injectors safer. Recheck the official description, then play.
Should I pair tier-list/teams.json with a script anyway?
No. Use the matching legal guide: escape, guard play, stashes, or the planner. Scripts are a separate ban path.
What is the one action tier-list/teams.json wants from me in the next two minutes?
Close rumor tabs, join place 72659788689464, and do the first legal step named in the sections above. Walking beats searching.
